The main entrance
to the park.

A pack of mongoose
right next to our room!
|
These are fascinating
animals! I saw a special
on them recently on the
Discovery Channel, which
was filmed at this park!
How cool is that?! Learn
more about them by
clicking on the
"Animals Facts" link.
|
One night after dinner
as we walked back to our
room, I saw one scurrying
off with an energy bar
wrapper that I thrown in
the garbage earlier. I
scared the mongoose and
he dropped the wrapper. I
then got close enough and
took it from him. He was
mad, yelling at me in
mongoose, but he doesn't
need to eat people food!
|
The collars that are on
them is so they can be
tracked. Don't you just
want to take one home?!
|
This is what we saw out
our balcony - warthogs!
|
See how it's on bended
knee to eat? Why does it
do this? Is this a male
or female? If you don't
know, better check out
the "Animal Fact" link!
|
On our drive through
the park to get to
the chimpanzee gorge,
we saw a clan of
hyenas. These are
one of the ugliest
animals in all of Africa.
They have sloped butts!
|
When we were in
Kenya, we saw just a
clan of two hyenas.
This is quite a big clan!
|
Sunning themselves.
Who is more dominate,
the male or female?
Better check "Animal Facts!"
|
We also saw a hippo
far from the water.
We were out early
this day, so it hadn't
made its way back
to the river yet.
|
I don't mean to make
a big deal about butts,
but don't hippos have
the ugliest butts? They
are just so cute from
the front, then
they turn around!
|
The elusive baboon.
They are just so darn
hard to photograph! We
saw it on our drive
back to the lodge.
|
Can you see the troop
of baboons? Click on
this photograph to
get a better look.
|
We also saw a
herd of waterbucks.
Do you know why
they stink? Better
check "Animal Facts!"
|
A bull waterbuck.
A beautiful animal.
Who are its enemies?
