VOLCANOES BWINDI CAMP PICTURE LINK
Located just outside Bwindi National Park, Volcanoes Bwindi Camp is a simple mobile camp with six tents
and basic facilities. The camp overlooks the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with monkeys, gorillas, chimpanzees, and birds
screeching near the stream below. The hospitality was outstanding here, and they really took care of Jeff
when he got sick. We would recommend this place to others.
Each tent has a "long drop" latrine, pull-string shower, luggage rack, wash basin, two simple beds, two
chairs, and a table. The camp has one building which is the lodge and dining area. At night it was like
sleeping outdoors as you heard everything, including all the monkeys talking back and forth. It was quite
different -- like night and day -- going from Mweya Safari Lodge in Queen Elizabeth Park to here!
On the first night we stayed here, we met the nicest couple traveling together. Linda was a teacher
from New Zealand, and he (his name is eluding me) was a U.N. supplies administrator from Norway.
They had met when she came to Africa to see the girl she had sponsored through a charity. We enjoyed
their company immensely, and Linda has invited us to come to New Zealand to visit her. Maybe
this will be our 2003 trip?!
