This was the boat
that we cruised on.

Three hippos in the
water with an elephant
in the background.

A great white egret
with a herd of buffalo.
Egrets eat fish, frogs,
rodents, and other
small animals.

A pied kingfisher.
Kingfishers have eyes
that adjust instantly
from daylight to
underwater vision to
catch fish, amphibians,
and crustaceans.

The egret is such a
beautiful bird! Its long
neck can be folded in a
tight S-shape, and their
bills harpoon prey with
speed and accuracy.

A hippo watching us.
What was awesome is that
as we cruised along, all
of sudden a hippo would
pop up out of the water,
giving out a big sigh! It
would scare you! Just how
long can a hippo hold its
breath? Better check on
"Animal Facts."

Hippos are so cute in
the water! But if you
see a hippo butt -- ugly!

This African buffalo is
watching these hippos.

The hippos were mostly
in the water on this
trip, with just their
eyes, ears, and nostrils
breaking the surface. Why
do they have to stay in
the water so much? Don't
know? Better find out
on "Animal Facts!"

This hippo was on the
move. You really have
to watch their back ends
as they will spray you
with urine and dung by
waving their tails. Yuck.
Why do they do this?
Better learn on
"Animal Facts."
