Here is part of the
elephant herd that
we sat with today.

A baby elephant
eating.

Who is the matriarch
of the herd? How many
hours does an elephant
sleep in a day? Don't
know? Better check
"Animal Facts!"

Protecting her
baby.

This is my favorite
elephant photograph.

How many pounds of
vegetation does an
elephant eat in a day?

Where are the males?
What is "green penis
syndrome?" What?!
Check out "Animal Facts."

Elephants are almost
human in complexity.
Click on "Animal Facts"
for examples.

Jeff with the elephants.
See how close we are?

This was going to be
our 2002 Xmas picture but
Jeff has an elephant butt
coming out of his ear and
I don't look so hot.

Do you know how to
tell the difference
between a male and
female by looking at
their horns? Better
learn on "Animal Facts."

A waterbuck.
The males live away
from the herd. They
have a plant diet of
grasses, reeds, and
brushes that is
unpalatable to other
herbivores. They chew
their cud.

A herd of African buffalo.
They can be very
dangerous, and one is
even reputed to have
tossed a Land Rover!

Here we are being sniffed.
Buffalo have a keen sense
of smell. Sniff, sniff!
