Don't you love their
mohawk hair? These
cubs will leave their
mother at around
eighteen months to
two years.

One word:
AWESOME.

Here she is leaving
her cubs to hunt. They
really wanted to come,
but she's left them in
a safe hidden spot.

Above the middle impala
to the left you can see a
dot. That's the cheetah
slowing making her way
closer to this herd.

Here she goes with all
her mighty 70 mph
speed to hopefully get
this impala. Go girl!

She wasn't close enough
when she started. She
was out of breath now --
she sounded like me
with my asthma as I hiked
the mountain gorillas
in Uganda!

Two Masai giraffes.
They spend most of their
day chewing their cud.

Up to this point, I've
never seen a giraffe sit
down. It must feel very
comfortable as this would
be an easy catch for a
lion. Hummmm....

Two giraffes necking
near a herd of zebras.
Why do they neck? Check
out the answer on
"Animal Facts."

An olive baboon. I'm
going to get a picture of
you one of these days!
When we saw them, they
were always near the
same place -- just past
the Mara River crossing.
