Two males.
They are young as they
are still growing manes.

Roar!
He can be heard as far
as five miles away by
other lions. This male
is about twelve years old.

Doesn't its shaggy mane
make it look so cute?
He's about two years
old, and he'll soon be
ousted from the pride.

These two females are
part of the pride that
were lying in the tall
grass. What's a lioness'
major rule in the pride
besides having cubs?
Better check "Animal Facts!"

Topis butting heads.
They are easy to pick
out by their violet
patches on their rear
thighs, front legs,
and faces.

Gazelles. They're easy
to see with their black
bands on their flanks.
I'll always remember
that gazelles have
"happy" tails as they
wag them feverishly
when they see you!

A lioness with a impala
kill. Our driver said
she most likely stole
this kill from a cheetah.

Yum! As Jeff Corwin says,
"It's raw and it's ugly. But
it's real and it's Africa!"

A black-backed jackal.
They're very cute
animals, and to me
they look like a cross
between a dog and a fox.

A pack of jackals
waiting out their turn.
A flock of vultures
were close by, too.
