FACEBOOK: Profile

The PROFILE page is:
(1) a page where you do most of your tasks;
(2) what your friends see about you – WALL, INFO, PHOTOS, etc.

LEFT SIDE
On the left side of this page is your profile picture, you can write a blurb about yourself, and you'll find summaries of your INFO page, your FRIENDS, and your PHOTOS. Please note the “See All” link next to FRIENDS so you can see all your friends.

When you're on a friend's PROFILE page, under their picture you'll find “Send xx a Message”. This is a quick way to email them. You may also find “View Photos of xx”. This is a quick link to view pictures of your friend.

CENTER

There are (3) main tabs on the PROFILE page. You may have other tabs depending on what applications you've added.

Tab #1 – WALL:
When you write on a WALL, everyone sees it. If you want to keep something private, instead use INBOX to email them directly.

“Wall to Wall” posts the conversation on both your WALL and your friend's WALL. “Jump on xx’s Wall” takes you over to that person’s WALL and the conversation is just there.

If you move your curser to the right edge of a wall post, there’s an “Edit” button. You can delete WALL posts here.

On a friend's WALL, you can “Write”, “Share Link”, “Post Photo”, “Record Video”, “Give Gift”, and a pull down menu of other options.

On your WALL, you can “Update Status”, “Share Link”, “Add Photos”, “Add Video”, “Write Note”, and a pull down menu of other options. When you “Write Note”, you're basically writing a note on your WALL. If you're trying to write to a specific friend, use “Wall to Wall” instead.

Tab #2 – INFO:
This is where you list all the information about yourself.

A few opinions:
a. I personally don't list the year I was born. I feel it’s “too much information” to have out there for anyone to see.
b. I also keep my current city generic. Again, I feel it’s “too much information” to have out there.
c. I don't understand the need to list myself under a city’s network (for example, Chicago Network).

Tab #3 – PHOTOS:
You can upload photos here and even group them by “albums”.
